J.T. Adams, at 3:30 o’clock Sunday, Feb. 25, Mr. James V. Schrimshire and Miss Georgia Layfield, both of Elmira (Taylor County) Ga., Rev. J.T. Adams officiating. The groom is well known in that community and has so conducted himself as the gain and to keep the friendship and confidence of his many acquaintances. The bride is the beautiful daughter of Mr. James Layfield and since her residence at Elmira has won for herself a host of warm friends. We wish for them a happy and prosperous voyage over the sea of life. Additional Comments: Note: The transcriber is related to both of these families. Georgia Layfield was a sister of my great-grandfather, Ed Layfield, while James "Jim" Schrimshire was an older half-brother of my great-grandmother, Gussie Schrimshire Adams. I would like to correspond with anyone researching these families. Georgia Layfield was a daughter of James Monroe Layfield and Mary Elizabeth Watson and James Vol Schrimshire was the oldest son of Robert Wilson Schrimshire and Sarah Fannie Simpson.
