There was a hasty gathering of an interested and large crowd at Parker Bros. & Co. store, where it was rumored that there was to be a marriage ceremony performed at that place last Friday. In a few minutes after the crowd gathered Miss Bertie Gill, a fair young girl of Webster County, richly gowned in one Parker Bros. & Co. mystic creations of point lace and wool; and Mr. W.T. Rogers of Taylor County, stood before the admiring throng and joined hands while Judge R.L. Rigsby faced them and in his usual solemn, sonorous and beautiful way united them until death as man and wife. It was not the intention of either party to marry when they met at Parker Bros. & Co. store, but they were so pleased with the goods and prices that they quickly decided the opportune time for setting up a home had come.
