Reynolds, Ga., Nov. 13, 1911

Mr. Frank Montfort, assistant cashier of the Reynolds Banking Co., was married 
Sunday afternoon to Miss Bessie Lee Slappy, one of Butler’s most beautiful and 
attractive young ladies.  They will make Reynolds their future home and our 
citizens extend to them a most cordial welcome.

Slappy – Montfort Wedding

As has been anticipated for some time the marriage of Miss Bessie Lee Slappy 
and Mr. Frank Montfort, formally of Butler, but recently of Reynolds, Ga., took 
place at the residence of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Bennie Slappy Sunday 
afternoon at four o’clock, Rev. Earl Anderson officiating.  There were only a 
few friends present to witness the ceremony, after which Mr. and Mrs. Montfort 
left in an auto for Reynolds where to their friends they will be at the home of 
Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Lucas.

Perhaps no couple who have ever married in Butler were better known than Frank 
and Bessie Lee, as they were familiarly called, and none has more friends.  
They were both reared in Butler and none knew them but to love them, and they 
carry with them the very best wishes of a host of friends.  Mr. Montfort is the 
youngest son of Hon. O.T. Montfort, who has for a long time held the office of 
Clerk of the Superior Court of Taylor County.

The young couple received many handsome and valuable presents which evidenced 
the high esteem in which they are held by their many friends.
