Local Paragraphs

The marrying fever was rife Sunday among the negro population of the town, when 
in the afternoon Ordinary Riley was twice called upon to tie the knot, one 
ceremony being performed in the office of the Ordinary, the other on the 
sidewalk near his residence.  The parties thus married were Tom Riley and Lena 
Bateman, O.R. Searcy and Beatrice Jones.
