Carter-Ruffin

Reynolds, GA Dec 2
A quiet but very beautiful wedding occurred at the elegant home of Col and Mrs.
G.T. Ruffin on Sunday evening at 8 o'clock when their daughter, Miss Eva Bell
Ruffin was wedded to Mr. Albert Mitchell Carter. [Nov 30, 1902]

They entered the parlor to the soft strains of Mendelssohn's wedding march,
rendered by Miss Martha Virginia Addison.

During the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Paul Ellis, the couple stood in
front of a large bay window under an arch, which was festooned with smilax and
white chrysanthemums, tied in the centre with a large white satin ribbon love knot.

The bride was gowned in a handsome cloth dress trimmed in Irish point lace and
hand embroidered medallions and wore a black velvet picture hat. The bride is a
charming young lady and a fine musician and is very popular.

The groom is a young man of sterling business qualifications and stand high in
both the social and business world.

These two young people claim a host of friends and admirers as evinced by the
handsome presents received.

Mr. and Mrs. Carter will leave in a few days on their bridal tour for a trip
through Florida and Cuba. After their return they will be at home to their
friends at the Hodges house.

Granddaughter of James J. and Sarah Averett Ruffin
Grandmother Ruffin died Feb 1, 1888.  Grandfather Ruffin was alive for this
wedding, dying Feb 21, 1905
