Will of Thomas J. Amerson 26 Nov 1917 Taylor County, GA Will of Thomas J. Amerson, 1917 Georgia, Taylor County. I, T. J. Amerson, of said State and County, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make publish and declare this as my last will and testament, hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. Item 1st: I desire and direct that all just debts, if any I should leave, be paid by my executors as soon as possible after my death. Item 2nd: I direct my executors to divide that part of my lands known as all of the east half of lot of land number two hundred and fifty four(254) in the first district of Taylor county Georgia into three equal parts, the dividing lines to run North and South, extending across said lot of land. The third part of said half lot lying on the east side, I give and bequeath to my daughter, Vannie Amerson Calhoun, for and during her natural life, with remainder over to her children and representatives of children, surviving her at the time of her death. Item 3rd: That third part of said half lot lying on the west side, I give and bequeath to my daughter, Mattie Amerson Tucker, for and during her natural life, with remainder over to her children and representatives of children surviving her at the time of her death: Item 4th: That third of said half lot lying in the middle I give and bequeath to my daughter Carrie Amerson Sanders, in fee simple. Item 5th: To my daughter, Lula Amerson Taunton, I give and bequeath thirty acres across the east side of lot of land number two hundred and fifty five (255) in the first district of Taylor County Georgia, with all improvements thereon, this tract to be in the shape of a triangle extending across the East side of my holdings in said lot and extending westward on said tract of seventy acres owned by me to that point where she will get a measured thirty acres thereof from the east line of said lot. Item 6th: The rest and residue of my estate both real and personal I give and bequeath to my four daughters mentioned above, each to share and share alike. If a satisfactory division of same can be made, agreeable to my four daughters mention above, I direct my executors to divide the residue of my estate in kind, turning over to each of them that portion of assets as agreed upon by them. If a satisfactory division of same cannot be made as agreed to among my heirs, then I direct my executors to sell all the rest and residue of my estate at public outcry after advertising the sale of same in two issues of the Butler Herald, this to be in lieu of all orders of the Court of Ordinary or other provisions of law for the sale of property of decedents. Item 7th: In the event that any of my heirs, the legatees mentioned above, or any representatives of any of my heirs, shall contest any of the provisions of my will or shall file objections to the probate of the same, the one or ones so affending shall lose all interest in my estate and shall forfeit all their rights hereunder and I direct that all interest bequeathed to them shall be equally divided among the rest of my heirs as part of my residuary estate as provided in Item sixth above. Item 8th: I hereby nominate and appoint my friends C. B. Marshall and Bailey P. Jones as joint executors of this my last will and testament, and having implicit confidence in the honesty and integrity of each of them, I expressly excuse them from making bond and annual returns to the ordinary as provided by law during their administration of my estate.
