                        HAD NOT MET IN 34 YEARS
                           14 JANUARY 1901
     Mrs. Susan Bishop of Des Moines, Ia., arrived in the city last Saturday to
visit her brother, Maj. G. D. Davis. Mrs. Bishop and Maj. Davis have not seen
each other for thirty-four years. Neither recognized the other at the train
Saturday, the Major going home disappointed, thinking she did not come, but was
glad on reaching home to find that she had preceded him from the train. Mrs.
Bishop will remain here several weeks. We hope she will get a favorable of the
Sunny South.
