James Williamson died at his home in Telfair County, onn Friday last, aged 82 years. He was for a number of years prior to the war, Pastor of the Hawkinsville Baptist Church, and taught school here several years. He was a faitful worker in the cause of his master. James “Jimmie” Williamson was born 25 August 1805 at River Clyde., Glasglow., Scotland and died at his home in Telfair county., Georgia on 6 July 1888 and was buried in Sec: C., Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery. He married Mary Harvey in 1828 in Effingham County., Georgia. Mary was born 1800 in Effingham County., Georgia and died on 7 September 1881 in Telfair County., Georgia. She is buried next to her husband.
