R. Yawn, of near Cox, on Monday, the 21st inst, of dropsy, combined with other infirmities produced by old age. Mr. Yaun was 77 years old and leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his demise. Mrs. J. C. Rogers and Mrs S. T. Rogers of Eastman are his daughters. His body was interred at the Brown Cemetery at Chauncey, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. B. H. Summer of the Baptist Church, of which Mr. Yaun wasa splendid citizen and will be greatly missed in the community in which he had so long made his residence. Additional Comments: Tad Evans, who grew up around Chauncey stated Cox, was on the Chauncey/McRae Highway near the Dodge/Telfair County line. Cox is name of the family that owned the Lumber Mill. When Lumber disappeared so did the name of Cox, Dodge County., Georgia. It seems like from talking with Tad, lots of the graves have disappeared at the Brown Cemetery. As a young boy he spoke of an area that was enclosed by a Iron Medal Fence. Over the years it has also been done away with.
