McArthur and his wife Martha Virginia Victoria "Vic" Ryder. Aunt Vic's brother was my maternal great-grandfather, J. T. Ryder. Uncle Walter was born August 3, 1837 in Cumberland County, North Carolina and died December 16, 1894 in Lumber City, Telfair County, Georgia. He was a Lieutenant in the 7th Regiment Georgia Militia, CSA, and was also a delegate to the Democratic National Convention from Georgia in 1876. He made his fortune in the lumber business in and around Telfair County. Aunt Vic was born October 26, 1857 in Walden, Bibb County, Georgia and died in 1931 in Lumber City.
