Dr. S.E. Wasson, pastor of the church, will officiate and the wedding music will be rendered by Mrs. Katie Jester Griffeth, organist, and Mr. George Sabados, of Boston, Mass., a noted violinist. The bride will be given in marriage by her brother, E. Oscar Kinnebrew, and attended by her younger sister, Miss Ruth Kinnebrew, as maid of honor, and by Mrs. E. Hulme Kinnebrew, her sister-in-law, as matron of honor. Miss Elizabeth Bondurant and Miss Carrie Ford, of Athens, and Miss Harriette Kinnebrew, of Franklin, N.C., will be bridemaids and Miss Mary Winston, young niece of the bride-elect, will act as junior maid. The best man will be Alexander Peterson Smith, of McRae, a brother of the groom-elect. The groomsmen will include Hugh Peterson, of Ailey; Freeman McClure, of LaFayette; Freeman McClure, of LaFayette; Fleetwood Lanier, of Athens, and Malcolm P. Smith, of McRae. Misses Maybeth Mitchell and Kathryn Davis will be the flower girls and Master E. Hulme Kinnebrew, Jr., will carry the ring. Milo Hatch, of Augusta, Leon L. Folsom, of McRae, Professor John Wade, of Marshallville and the University of Georgia, and E. Hulme Kinnebrew, of Athens, will be ushers. Mrs. Ambrose Penn Winston, sister of the bride-elect, will entertain the bridal party, out-of-town guests and members of both families at a lovely informal reception following the ceremony at her home on University drive. Miss Kinnebrew is a representative of one of north Georgia’s pioneer families, a daughter of Mrs. Mary Hulme Kinnebrew and the late Colonel R.H. Kinnebrew and is a young woman of unusual attractiveness and exceptional talents being a musician and vocalist of rare ability. She is one of the leaders in the musical circles of Athens and during the past several years has been connected with the First Methodist church as director of music, being at present contralto soloist of the First Baptist church. She is a graduate of the State Normal school in Athens and of the New York Conservatory of Music. She is well known throughout the state, having at various intervals appeared on the concert stage. For three consecutive years she headed the voice department of the South Georgia college. Mr. Smith’s family connections are prominent, his father, T.J. Smith, of McRae being one of south Georgia’s leading citizens and his mother, Mrs. Eula Peterson Smith, coming from a family of culture and influence. He is a graduate of the Georgia Military Academy and the University of Georgia, and a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, the Senate, Gridiron and other prominent clubs at the university. At present Mr. Smith is practicing law in McRae where he will introduce his bride to a wide circle of friends following a lengthy wedding trip.
