Early County News
Mr. Belton Joyner Dead.  From Atlanta Journal.  A former citizen of this place 
died suddenly last week in Atlanta.  He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. J. D. 
Jones and uncle of Mrs. A. D. Harriss.  His body was carried to Dawson for 
burial.  Sgt Belton Joyner was a CSA veteran and served with the Army of SC.  
He was an officer in Co K, SC Volunteers and served 3 years in VA under Gen 
Lee.  

Additional Comments:
He was a son/ Robert Joyner and Elizabeth C. Baughman Joyner of SC.  He was a 
bro/ Raiford E. (Joyner)Raines, Paul Hamilton Joyner, and Sarah E. (Joyner)
Badger.
