Lived but a short time. A terrible tragedy happened near Bronwood late Saturday afternoon, when the little 12 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Kennedy of near Bronwood was accidentally killed by John Murray, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Murray of Bronwood. These two little boys, with a number of companions, were out hunting, and the little Murray boy was walking along with his gun cocked when he suddenly stumbled and the gun was discharged. The load took effect in little Oliver Kennedy's side, and produced a wound from which he died five or six hours later. The accident occurred near the home of Mr. David Martin, and the little boy was taken into his house and physicians summoned. The burial took place in Bronwood Sunday afternoon, Rev. S. J. Hargrove impressively conducting the last rites. The accidental tragedy is one of the saddest that has ever occurred, and universal sympathy goes out to both families.
