Mrs. Kennedy – Mrs. Nina Stubbs Kennedy, 85, died January 15 in Statesboro 
Nursing Home after a long illness.  Funeral services were held January 18 at 
Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with burial in Eastside Cemetery.  The 
Bullock County native lived in Terrell County from 1924 until 1940 when they 
returned to Statesboro to make their home.  She taught school in Bronwood and 
married Tom Kennedy, who preceded her in death by many years.  She was a 1921 
graduate of Statesboro High School and received her Master’s degree in 
education at Georgia Teachers College in 1961.  She was a member of Statesboro 
Senior Woman’s Club and Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.  Surviving are a 
daughter, Mrs. Kate Pate, of Statesboro; two brothers, Lehman Stubbs of Millen 
and Grover Stubbs of Statesboro; a sister, Mrs. Mary Denmark of Orlando, 
Florida; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Hodges-Turner 
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
