The Dawson News, August 25, 1983

Mrs. Elmore Kennedy died Sunday, August 21, at Terrell County Hospital after a 
lengthy illness.  Graveside services were held in Parrott City Cemetery 
Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Hugh Jefferson, pastor of the Dawson 
Presbyterian Church officiating.  Burial was in the family plot.  A native of 
Taylor County, Mrs. Kennedy lived in Shellman and graduated from Shellman High 
School before coming to Terrell County some 60 years ago.  She was the 
daughter of Henry Harrison Waters and Martha parker Waters.  She was born 
march 23, 1885.  Her husband preceded her in death.  She was a member of the 
Enterprise United Methodist Church.  Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Jim 
McGill of Parrott, Mrs. M.H. Black, Mrs. L.O. Rowland and Mrs. George House of 
Dawson.  DuPree Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
