Newspaper May 25, 1881 It has been our painful duty to record the death of our dear departed William Brightwell, Jr., who died at his residence in Terrell county on Friday, the 22nd of April, aged 48 years, one month and 3 days. Mr. Brightwell was confined to his bed for 5 months during which time he suffered intensely, but while his affliction was so protracted, and his suffering intensified, he was patient meek and submissive, being perfectly resigned to the will of God. When urged by his family and friends to send for a physician, he would reply that it was useless - that he trusted a higher power for relief than that of a doctor. Mr. Brightwell was an agreeable neighbor and a good citizen, a loving husband and tender father, always using every possible means to make his many friends and family happy. He leaves behind to mourn his death a dependant and afflicted family. Let all who read this invoke the blessings of God to aid the poor widowed mother to raise the dear little half orphan children to meet their sainted father in that land where parting will be no more. "Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep From which none ever wakes to weep, A calm and undisturbed repose, Unbroken by the last of foes" A Friend Additional Comments: An image file of this obituary can be seen at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/terrell/photos/obit1.jpg This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
