State of Georgia, Thomas County

                      This indenture made this the thirty first day of January 
Eighteen hundred and fifty five, Between Shadrach Smith of the one part and 
William Brumberly of the other part, both of said county, Witnesseth, that the 
said Shadrach Smith for and in consideration of the great love and affection 
which he bears towards his daughter Rebecca Brumberly wife of said William 
Brumberly as well as for and in consideration of the sum of Ten dollars to him 
in hand paid by the said William Brumberly the receipt of which is hereby 
acknowledged, has granted bargained aliened and conveyed and by these presents 
doth grant bargain sell alien and convey unto the said William Brumberly his 
heirs and assigns the following described property, to wit,  32 thirty two head 
of stock cattle marked with a swallow fork and two under bits in one year (sic) 
and a Flour deluce (sic) in the other Ear and Branded with SS.  and also one 
Iron gray horse about (4) four years old, said property now being in the 
possession of said William Brumberly and in said county. Together with all the 
increase of said property. To have to hold the said aforegranted & bargained 
property to the said William Brumberly his heirs and assigns in Trust, 
nevertheless for the sole and seperate use of the said Rebecca Brumberly and 
heirs of her body for and during their natural lives, and after their deaths to 
such of my children brothers & sisters of the said Rebecca Brumberly as may be 
living at the time of the death of the said Rebecca, after her death first to 
her children living and after their deaths to go to her said brothers and 
sisters living. The said property subject to the control and management of the 
said William Brumberly, but not intended to be subject to the debts and liabilities 
of the said William Brumberly , that may now be due and payable or that may hereafter 
become due and payable by him, but conveyed as above for the 
sole and seperate use and benefit of the said Rebecca Brumberly and the heirs 
of her body as aforesaid. And the said Shadrach Smith will and his heirs 
Executors and administrators shall said bargained and conveyed property to the 
said William Brumberly as Trustee as aforesaid, forever warrant and defend by 
virtue of these presents.
                In Witness Whereof the said Shadrach Smith hath hereunto set 
his hand and seal the day and year above written.
