News Gleaned From Georgia

It is rumored at Thomasville that Harry Payne Whitney will inherit Greenwood
Plantation, the 7000 acre Georgia estate of Col. Oliver H. Payne, who died in
New York.  News of the death of Colonel Payne was received with regret, as he
had long been one of Thomasvillle’s regular winter residents and his country
home, Greenwood Plantation, is one of the most beautiful places in the south.
