Barrow, accused of murder of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Parish, on December 29, brought in a verdict of not guilty. The jury was out for fifteen hours. Barrow is an engineer of the Atlantic Coast Line and on the day of the tragedy attempted to kill his wife. Barrow had confessed the killing to several people, and for this reason the verdict caused a sensation.
