News Articles: FIRE DEPARTMENT IS KEPT BUSY Thomasville's fire department was kept on the run over the week-end, and answered another alarm this morning to a grass patch fire on South Broad near the home of Mr. Harry Feinberg. They also were called to a negro house on Short street, off North Broad where a roof fire did slight damage but was ex- tinquished without seriously threaten- ing the house. Another call sent the chemical truck to a point on the Tallahassee road where a woods fire was threatening a Satsuma orange grove. The woods fire was much too big for the city truck to handle with it's chemicals, however. This morning the department an- swered an alarm on West Clay street between Monroe and Stephens. Sparks from the chimney had ignit- ed a small area of wood shingles on the roof of a house in that block but the blaze was controlled without a great deal of damage resulting. CIRCUS PARADE HERE TODAY - - Blaring bands, caged beasts of the jungle, clowns, horsemen and every other feature of a circus rolled down Broad street again today in an old time circus parade, the display of Barnett Brothers three ring show which is here for performances this afternoon and tonight. Hundreds of people crowded the streets of the business section as the parade passed along, and kiddies and grown ups alike thrilled to the sight which is coming less frequently since a number of circuses have abandoned their parades. - - - - - POLICE GET NEW WINTER UNIFORMS - - The cops aren't being out done by the fire fighters.
