F.Short, following a mastoidal operation to relieve some trouble that had recently developed. The operation was known to be seri- ous, but very few of her friends knew there was cause for alarm. The announcement this morning that she was dead came with the shocking suddenness of a tragedy. Mrs. Short was a most excellent young woman and has a host of friends in Valdosta who were sadden- ed by her death. She spent most of her early life in Tifton and Thomasville, where her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. McNeill formerly resided. She came to Val- dosta seven or eight years ago and was well known and popular as Miss Ruby McNeill. Five or Six years ago she was married to Mr. E. F. Short who then held a position wiht the Southern Express Company, but is now with the Southeastern Company. The marriage was a happone and the young couple wee devoted to each other. Mrs. Short was of a quiet nature excellent disposition and was always in a good humor. She otent had an expression of sadness, which added to her charms of person, for at all times she had a smile of pleasantry for her friends. She is survived by her parents, who reside at Kissimme, Fla., and broth- ers and sisters as follows: Mrs. W. H. Williams of Madison, Fla.; T. H. McNeill, of Bainbridge; J. M. Mc- Neill, of Fitzgerald,; A. A. McNeill, Gardner, Fla.; N. M.. McNeill, Kiss- immee, Fla.; Dan B. McNeillm of Atlanta; Mrs. O. Hansen, of Fort Myers, Fla.; and Misses Margaret and Foda McNeill of Ocala, Fla..
