Evans Dies At Thomasville. Thomasville, Ga., December 16- James Frederick Evans. 79, prominent citizen of Thomasville, died suddenly at his home here this morning, death resulting from a heart attack suffered early last night, but from which he was thought to have recovered when he suddenly passed away. He was a native of Dooly county, but had lived in Thomasville since childhood. He was a Confederate veteran, entering the war when only 16 years old. He had held various city offices, was treasurer, alderman, member of the school board and other positions. He was for 60 years a member of the Thomasville Methodist church and chairman board of stewards. Mr. Evans was twice married. By his first wife, who was Miss Leona Reid, of this city, he is survived by five children, Miss Minnie Evans, Wilmore, Ky.; Mrs. E. T. Gentry, and Mrs. J.W. Bonnell, Atlanta; Mrs. Harold Beall,Fitzgerald; Mrs. W. W. Foster, San Antonio, Texas. His second wife, who was Miss Mary Roberts, survives him, with three children, Mrs. Sidney Fleming, Thomasville; Mrs. R. E. Lawson, Atlanta, and James F. Evans, Jr., Thomasville. The funeral will be held tomorrow from his residence here.
