J. Mills Passes Away The above named prominent gentleman who died a few days since at his home near Pavo, had many relatives in Cairo. The following article relative to the passing away of Mr. Mills, we clip from the Moultrie Observer of Friday, July 5th. "The deceased was fifty eight years old and a well known citizen of Thomas county. He was the father of a large family of children and his death has brought to them and the devoted wife very much sorrow and loss. Mr. Mills was sick only two days, he had been complaining for several days and had done but little work. Friday morning he was forced to take his bed and grew worse rapidly. Saturday afternoon the members of the family out of town were telegraphed for and they were not able to reach his bedside before death claimed him at eight o'clock. The funeral occurred on Sunday afternoon at Salem church near Pavo. There was a large concourse of people who gathered to pay the last rites to a noble citizen whose death was generally mourned."
