The Rev. Dr. Dan Spencer and the Rev. Dr. Milton Gardner will officiate. Interment is in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a Marine Corps Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Ray Council, Fred Maddox, Keefe Newton, Sam Sherrod, the Rev. Andy Piland, Leon Powell, Michael Tatum and Joe Newton. Honorary pallbearers will be James Clements, Terrell Singletary, Robert Jinright, Bobby McGee, Charlie Whiddon, Dallas Ragan, Robert Benton and the Waffle Shop Morning Coffee Table Group. Mr. Wester died peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning with his beloved wife by his side. Walter Henry Wester was born on Jan. 14, 1929, the second son of the late Dwight Mathew and Sarah Moreland Wester. He attended Thomasville public schools and served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from April 12, 1946 to April 11, 1950. He married his devoted wife of 53 years, Kathryn Williams Wester, on Dec. 26, 1949. He was a retired ordained Baptist minister and pastored rural churches for 35 years. He was also retired from Frito Lay Inc. and was affectionately known to many of his customers as ''The 'Tater Chip Man.'' In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughter and son-in- law, Debbie and Fred Maddox of Pavo; his granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Laura and Keefe Newton of Thomasville; three step-grandchildren, Dwayne Maddox and Lynn Maddox Smith and her husband, David, of Macon and Johnathan Maddox of Thomasville; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Lynda Wester of Marietta; an aunt, Mrs. Jane Roebuck of Midland, Alabama; four sister-in-law and their families, Ruth Wester and Mattie Powell of Tallahassee and Robbie Tatum and Ocie Piland of Waycross; a faithful niece, Sharon Powell Sherrod, and her family of Thomasville. In addition to his parents, a brother, Ralph Wester of Tallahassee; and a step-grandson, Justin Maddox of Thomasville, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Archbold Foundation for the treatment of diabetes and kidney diseases. The family will be at (Address deleted for privacy).
