His parents were Margaret N. Mobley and Dr. John W. Mobley. He attended grade school in Pelham and high school at the Brown School in Antonio, Texas. Mr. Mobley served in the United States Navy for a short time and held various jobs in construction and agriculture. He was an ardent member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church helping in Christmas functions and other volunteer activities. Mr. Mobley is survived by two older brothers, John W. Mobley III of Tallahassee, Fla. and Gwinn Nixon Mobley of Thomasville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Thomasville. Father Charles Bennett will officiate. Active pallbearers are Helen Carico, Jim Carico, Harry Tomlinson, Bill Blackburn, Bruce Warren, Rocky Spence, Steve Kelley and Marshall Dunaway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Inc., P.O. Box 1201, Albany, Ga. 31702.
