Henry Lewis Hayes
Services for Henry Lewis Hayes, 88, Meigs, are at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 
2003 at Midway Baptist Church. The Rev. Nathan Fowler will officiate and 
interment is in Midway Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Allen Hayes, David 
Hayes, Chris Hayes, Lee Hancock, Chris Hurst, Fred Cooper and Kenneth Langley. 
Mr. Hayes died Monday, July 7 at Hospitality Care Nursing Home in Thomasville. 
Born Feb. 14, 1915 in Grady County, Ga., he was a son of the late Trudie Eliza 
Ingram and the late Henry Dennis Hayes. He was a member of Midway Baptist 
Church, retired farmer and custodian for Thomas County schools. Survivors 
include a brother and sister-in-law, J.B. and Jean Hayes of Meigs; three 
sisters and a brother-in-law, Irene Colette of Wewahitchka, Fla., Laverne 
Suber of Thomasville, Jewell and Joe Alligood of Wewahitchka; two sisters-in-
law, Mae Hayes of Pelham, Ila Mae Dukes of Waycross; two stepsons and wives, 
William and Pat Hurst of Modesto, Calif., Hollis and Rachel Hurst of 
Woodstock; many stepgrandchildren and nieces and nephews. Donations may be 
made to Midway Baptist Church, Box 1, Meigs, Ga. 31765. The family will 
receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. -- Braswell
