Mrs. Singletary died on Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Thomasville. Born on Sept. 2, 1934 in Montclair, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Robert Nelson Irons and Betty King Irons of Montclair. She had lived in Thomasville for the past 45 years. She attended Duke University and graduated from Baylor University. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville and was a former member of the Junior Service League in Thomasville. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Julia Singletary of Thomasville and Lewis Hall and Rebecca Singletary of Atlanta; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Greg Hamil of Thomasville; a sister, Marion Irons Rose of New Canaan, Conn.; and grandchildren, Lewis and Margaret Singletary, Michael and Eve Toomey and Lauren and William Hamil, all of Thomasville, and Connor and Mitchell Singletary of Atlanta. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
