The Rev. Don Smith will officiate, with burial at Welcome Hill Cemetery in Brooks County. Mrs. Spell died on Monday, July 28, 2003, at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Born on March 16, 1917 in Berrien County to the late Lewis Andrew and Lena Rebecca Chadwick Brady, she was a retired seamstress and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Bunny Spell of Valdosta, Edd and Belinda Spell of Hahira, and Carnell Lee and Hilda Spell of Barney; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Emogene and Edsel Paulk of Lithia Springs, LaVerne Norris of Brooks County, Allene and Max Horne of Cairo and Claudine and Sam Hardin of Jacksonville, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.D. "Sox" Spell Jr. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Martin/McLane Funeral Home in Hahira.
