Mrs. Tate died on Sunday, July 27, 2003, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas. Born in Stewart County on Nov. 16, 1919, she was daughter of the late Milford and Emma Trammell Brown. She is the widow of the late Harold Ragland and the late Robert L. Tate. She was the home demonstration agent for Colquitt County for 25 years and was named Woman of the Year for Moultrie in 1964.
