Moncrief of Moultrie are at 11 a.m. Monday March 1, 2004 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Merrill Coram and Rev. Mike Harrell will officiate and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Florida Street. Pallbearers are grandsons, James Moncrief, Todd Moncrief, Josh Moncrief, and Jeff Brantley; and family friends, Earnest Pullen, and Tim Coram. Mrs. Moncrief was born on October 20, 1912 in Grady County to the late James Edward and Mary Vinnie Parker White. On August 2, 1932 she married Charles Robert Moncrief, Sr. who preceded her in death. Mrs. Moncrief was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include son James Landis Moncrief & Jo Anne of Moultrie, GA, daughter Brenda Sanders & Charles of Palatka, FL, son Charles Robert Moncrief and wife Charlotte of Camarillo, CA, son Ronnie Moncrief of Jacksonville, FL She had 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Mrs. Moncrief was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Joyce and sisters Katie Rich and Mary Bass. Ga. Essie lived at 411 Fleming St. with her Mother, Mary V White head of household, Essie age 15, if this is true she was born 1915 not 1912...Also, living in the same household is her sister Mary W. Bass and neice Mary F. Bass, brother in law Joe Bass was at work and was omitted. Essie Lindsay White Moncrief was the granddaughter of Edward A. & Florence Olivia Cox White, Great Granddaughter of Edward A. & Edith Haney White, all of Grady Co. GA. Essie at one time worked in the Lunch Room at McIntyre Park School in Thomasville, Ga. Later she and her husband ran Moncrief's Grocery on County Line Road at Pinetree Blvd. In the early years of their marriage C. R. & Essie both worked for Powell Candy Company in Thomasville, along with her Mother, Vinnie Parker White, Aunt Nancy Jane Parker Dupee and cousin, Eddie Bell Hess, and brother in law Joe Bass.
