The Rev. Dewitt Rehberg and Tommy Kinchen will officiate, with interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are H. L. Sherrod, Sam Sherrod, Irvan NeSmith, Dayne Parramore, Neel Parramaore, Louis Rehberg, Jerry Salter and Craig Smith. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Big Creek Baptist Church, Wayne Dollar and Claude Parramore. Born on Aug 25, 1928, a son of the late James Bennett and Neva Lee Parramore Sherrod. On Dec. 10, 1949, he married Louise Croft Sherrod who survives. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and a farmer. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and an eight-year Georgia State Representative, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 369, Eastern Star Chapter No. 46 and the Thomas County Farm Bureau. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Ken Wheeler of Dacula; and a sister-in-law, Joyce S. Sherrod of Coolidge. Grandchildren include Lou Ellen and Mike Marlatt, and Rob Wheeler. He was preceded in death by brothers Bennett Cecil Sherrod and Harold Lee Sherrod. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
