Dawkins chief of the Thomasville fire department, was killed and Oscar Davis, fireman, badly injured when the fire truck upon which they were rushing to put out a fire at a negro house on the outskirts of town collided at a cross street with an automobile driven by B.F. Woodward, county policeman. Additional Comments: The date of the Butler Herald is January 3rd, 1918; this news article was most likely obtained from a publication from the previous week which would have made the death date to be December 1917. I'm not a researcher of the Dawkins family and don't know the exact death date for this individual. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.2 Kb
