Lessie G. Leslie
Services for Lessie G. Leslie, 87, Thomasville, are at 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 
23, 2003 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Cairo. The Rev. Harold Thomaston will 
officiate. Mrs. Leslie died Tuesday, May 20 at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home in 
Thomasville. Born Oct. 25, 1915 in Grady County, Ga., she was a daughter of the 
late Walter H. and Ella Harrison Gilbert. She was married to the late Frank 
Leslie. Mrs. Leslie was a homemaker, a nurse, of the Baptist faith and attended 
Pineland Baptist Church. She had a passion for gardening and growing flowers. 
Survivors include daughters, Mildred Moody of Bell, Fla., Doris Wright of 
Anderson, Ind.; a son, Vernon Leslie of Thomasville; 14 grandchildren; eight 
great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth 
Champion of Thomasville, Hazel Parramore of Thomasville; brothers, Herbert 
Gilbert of Tampa, Fla., Robert Gilbert of Oviedo, Fla.; and a host of nieces, 
nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, 
Clarence Leslie; a grandson, David Gayland Wright; sisters, Neva Bell Shores, 
Lorette Willis; brothers, Ernest Gilbert and Herman Gilbert. The family will 
receive friends the hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. --
