Trammell Services for Norwood H. Trammell, Cairo, are at 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2003, at First Baptist Church, Cairo. Interment is at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo., Mr. Trammell died Friday, May 2, 2003, at Grady General Hospital in Cairo. He was born March 17, 1924, in Dadeville, Ala., a son of the late Walter Harris and Mary Downing Trammell. A retired salesman for Virginia Carolina Chemical Corp., Mr. Trammell was a member of First Baptist Church in Cairo. He was a veteran of World War Il, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Trammell is survived by his wife, Carleen S. Trammell, Cairo; daughters and son-in-law, Claudia and Dennis Douglas McClain, Dallas, Texas, Cynthia Trammell Slocum, Atlanta; grandchildren, Matthew Trammell McClain, Cameron Trammell McClain, both of Dallas, Molly Slocum, Beau White, Robert Wymn Slocum III, Atlanta; great- grandson, Jackson Trammell, Atlanta; stepdaughter, Janie Hawthorne Simpson, Cairo; stepson, Floyd Hawthorne Jr., Tallahassee, Fla.; stepdaughter, Janet Hawthorne Pope, Cairo; sister, Rachel Trammell Robinson, Fort Walton, Fla.; brother, Walter Wayne Trammell, Naples, Fla; nieces, Susan Trammel, Cartersville, Amanda Trammell, Naples, Gayle Starnes, Panama City, Fla.; and nephews, Billy Starnes, Tallahassee, Sammie Starnes, Fort Walton.
