John Walker officiating. Mrs. Jordan died Tuesday, May 13 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born in Cook County, she was the daughter of John Edward and Inelle Folsom Murray. She was a graduate of Valdosta State College and remained active with the Sigma chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a retired schoolteacher for the Brooks County School System, was a member of Quitman United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and served on many committees in the Hazel Matthews Circle. She is survived by a sister, Lillian Murray Martin of Thomasville; two brothers, George Washington Murray of Quitman, Thomas Eugene (Dolly) Murray of Phillips Port, N.Y.; sister- in-law, Billie Murray of Quitman; cousin, Mildred Southwell of Quitman; 18 nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leland Jordan; two brothers, James Lamar Murray and John Edward Murray Jr.; and a sister, Christine Murray Powell. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Quitman United Methodist Church or their favorite charity.
