IDA FEINBERG LEVITT PASSED AWAY AT HOSPITAL HERE SUNDAY MORNING--- Many friends throughout the city were shocked and grieved yesterday to learn of the death of Mrs. Ida Feinberg Levitt at one o'clock Sun- day morning at the Archbold Memo- rial Hospital. Mrs. Levitt had been in ill health for about six months. Her condition became serious last week and she was carried to the hospital Tuesday, her condition being pronounced as critical. Death came early Sunday morning after uremic poisoning had set in. Funeral services were held at the residence on Crawford street yester- day afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, and in- terment took place at the Jewish Cemetery, Rabbi Landau of Albany officiated at the services,and the fol- lowing gentlemen acted as pall bear- ers: Messrs M. Warshaw, J. Silver- man, A. Rosolio, A. Stein and Mr. B. Lubin of Camilla and Mr. H. Groll- man of Bainbridge. All were life long friends of the deceased. Mrs. Levitt was born in Riga, Rus- sia in 1875. She came to America at an early age, and on September 2, 1896 was married to Mr. I. Levitt. Shortly after the marriage Mr. and Mrs. Levitt moved to Boston, GA.,lat- er moving to this city where Mr. Levitt became engaged in business. Mrs. Levitt assisted in the manage- ment of the business and soon be- came well known and loved my many residents of Thomasville. The deceased was a member of the sisterhood of the B' Nai Israel Syna- gogue of Thomasville. Her husband, Mr. I. Levitt, and three children survive. The children are Misses Sara and Dora Levitt and Mr. Joseph Levitt of this city. One brother, Mr. Harry Feinberg of Thomasville, and two sisters, Mrs. J. Goldberg of Monticello, Fla., and Mrs. J. Lipkin of Brooklyn, N. Y. also sur- vive. Many friend from Thomasville and other nearby cities attended the fun- eral, and there was a great number of of beautiful floral tributes, attesting to the esteem in which Mrs. Levitt was held. She was a devoted mother and wife, and a fine and much loved character. Many friends are extend- ing their sympathy to her bereaved family, and a wide circle of acquaint- ances both white and colored, will deeply regret to learn of her death.
