O’Neal, Edith Smith
Services for Edith Smith O'Neal will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Whiddon-
Shiver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gene Vinson officiating. Mrs. O'Neal died June 
7, 2003 at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home. Born in Thomas County on Feb. 14, 1903, she 
was the daughter of the late Hardy J. and Dora Irene Smith. Ms. O'Neal was a 
lifetime resident of Thomas County, a homemaker and a member of the True Light 
Church. She was married to W. G. Ansley, who preceded her in death in 1961, 
and then she married D.D. O'Neal who died in 1976. Survivors include son 
Gordon Ansley of Donalsonville; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 
eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation 
will follow the services. -- Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home

Mrs. Smith was 100 years old !!
