Sims Services for Bernice T. Sims, 92, Cairo, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2003 at Little Bethel AME Church in Cairo. The Rev. Roy J. Brown, pastor officiating, and interment is in Crestview Cemetery in Cairo. Active pallbearers are Tyron Gilbert, Harry Mitchell Jr., Andrew Willis, Christopher Robinson, Kordaryl Brown and Daytron Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Little Bethel AME Church stewards. Mrs. Sims died June 14. Born Oct. 1, 1910 in Thomas County, she was a daughter of the late Mary and Robert Thomas. She was married to the late Elton Sims. She attended the Thomas County school system, member of Little Bethel AME Church in Cairo and president of the Stewardess Board. Survivors include sons, George Brown Jr. of Cairo, Harris E. Sims (Diane) of Columbus; daughters, Carrie Anders (Joseph) of Torrington, Conn., Elizabeth Borden of Whigham, Lillie R.
