The Rev. Johnny Cooper will officiate. Mr. Mills died July 2 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. He was a native of Branchland, West Va., a long-time resident of Baton Rouge and Pride, La., and a current resident of Ochlockee. Mr. Mill was a retired attorney and graduate of the University of Miami and the LSU Law School. He was an officer in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 20 years of service, his later years of service being spent in the Judge Advocate General's Office (JAG). He was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal. He was a member of the Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church, The Veteran's of Foreign Wars, the Plains Masonic Lodge No. 135, and the Louisiana and American Bar Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mills. Survivors include a daughter Cherry Mills of Baton Rouge, La.; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Sharon Mills of Calvin, La.; sister, Juanita Scites of Ochlocknee; grandsons, Jim Tullos, Matt Prairie, Eric Mills, Lynn Mills; seven great-grandchildren; nephews, Kevin and Allan Scites; and niece, Karen Scites; and step-granddaughter, Melanie Weinzettel. Memorials may be made to the Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church.
