Just as the beautiful rays of the rising sun came up from the eastern horizon the angel of death came down from heaven and carried the pure soul of sister Laura Pearl Parramore back to God, who gave it. She was born in Thomas county, Georgia, November 21, 1870. She was the only child of Ansel B. and Laura Pearl Cone. Her funeral was conducted from the Boston Baptist church, August 1st, at 9 o'clock, by her pastor, brother D. H. Parker, and Rev. J. M. Rushin, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at the Presbyterian church. She was the wife of brother John J. Parramore, and united with the Baptist church when about fifteen years of age, and lived a consistent member until her death. For several years she was secretary and treasurer of the Woman's Missionary Society. This precious sister shall no more walk the pathways of earth; her voice shall be heard no more among us, but let us not grieve, as having no hope, for we feel that our loss is her eternal gain. We miss thee from our church, dear sister, We miss thee from thy place, We miss thy kind and willing hands, We miss the sunshine of they face. The world is better by her having lived. Death is a mystery at all times, and when the cruel reaper comes among us and selects one so bright and good we are more than mystified, but while we can not understand why we should be deprived of this noble life, our heavenly Father knows best. Resolved first. That we bow in humble submission to the will of our heaven Father who doeth all things well. Second. That we extend our Christian sympathy to the bereaved parents, husband, son and daughter and other relatives, who are so sadly grieved at the departure of their loved one, and would point them for consolation to a loving Savior who has said my grace is sufficient for you. Third. That our church has lost one who was ever willing and ready to work for the Master's cause, and the Woman's Missionary Society a faithful officer. Fourth. That though she has gone from among us let us not think of her as dead, but sleeping and awaiting the general resurrection, where we hope to join her in that beautiful city, where there will be no more parting. Fifth. That a copy of this be sent to the family, and that it be published in The Christian Index. Mrs. J. T. Rogers, Mrs. G. R. Cochran, Mrs. W. N. Harman, Committee.
