Wethington, was sitting by the fire in her room writing, with a kerosene lamp burning on a table beside her. Her dress caught fire from a spark, and blazing up, attracted her attention. She thoughtedly blew out the lamp, threw a crumb cloth over her head and ran screaming from the room. Her father hastened to her relief, and after some time succeeded in extinguishing the flames. His hands were terribly burned and Miss Minnie was severely and seriously and fatally burned, and breathed her last on Saturday night. She was a very lovely and intelligent young lady, a member of the senior class in Young Female College, and considered by the President one of the best and brightest pupils in his whole school.” Additional Comments: Transcriber's note: I'm not related to the Wethington family and do not have additional information about them.
