MIAMI, Fla. -- Ruth Vernell Branch Barnwell, 86, of Miami, Fla., died Saturday, 
Jan. 10, 2004, at South Shore Hospital in Miami.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2004 in the Chapel 
of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors in Tifton with burial to follow at 
Oakridge Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Mitchell will officiate.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive visitors one hour 
before the service at Albritton-Beaumont.

Born March 3, 1917, in Tift County, Mrs. Barnwell was the daughter of William 
Branch and Ora Cravey Branch, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by 
her husband, Ellis Clay Barnwell; a son; two granddaughters; and four brothers.
Mrs. Barnwell was of the Methodist faith. Before living in Miami for the last 
50 years, she was a resident of Enigma and Chula.

Survivors include five sons and three daughters-in-law, Tommy Barnwell of Miami, 
Bobby and Sandy Barnwell of Fitzgerald, Billy and Juanita Barnwell of Titusville, 
Fla., Ted Barnwell of Miami and Randy and Zena Barnwell of Miami; two daughters 
and a son-in-law, Dorothy and Bob Zino of Nashville and Mary White of Miami; a 
sister, Dorothy Vance of Tifton; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four 
great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, Tiftarea Chapel, 1020 Tift Avenue, Tifton, 
Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
