DEATH OF FORMER ROANOKE LADY IN LAGRANGE



Mrs. W.N. Gladney, a venerable and beloved woman of LaGrange, died at her home 

on Hogansville road Wedneday afternoon, Sept. 19th at four o'clock.  Mrs. 

Gladney was seventy-eight years of age at the time of her death. She leaves 

many friends who mourn her passing for she was a friend to all. She was 

cheerful and ready to speak a kind word to all who visited her.  Funeral 

services were held from the residence Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. 

A.D. Echols, pastor of the Unity Methodist church, assisted by Rev. W.P. 

Cofield, pastor of the Southwest LaGrange Baptist church, officiated. 

Interment took place in the Hillview Annex.  Mrs. Gladney is survived by three 

daughters, Mrs. E.C. Arnett, Mrs. J.W. Awbrey and Mrs. J.K. Bennett, all of 

LaGrange; three sons, Mr. R.D. Gladney of Tifton,  Mr. J.F. Gladney of 

LaGrange and Mr. G.C. Gladney of Washington, D.C.; also several grandchildren 

and nine great grandchildren.  The LaGrange Graphic
