Goodman Of Tifton Dies; Rites Wednesday Funeral services for George Walter Goodman, 81, of 1805 Belmont Avenue will be held Wednesday at 3pm at the Church of God on Belmont Avenue. Mr. Goodman died early today at his home after a long illness. Rev. L. O. Prosser and Rev. J. B. Dooly will officiate with burial in Tifton Cemetery (Oak Ridge Cemetery). Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Goodman was born April 29, 1883 in Tift County, son of the late Rev. J. J. F. Goodman and Rhoda Edenfield Goodman. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Tift County all of his life. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Edna Jane Faulk Goodman whom he married in 1906; one son, G. Robert Goodman, Tifton; one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Phillips, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. John Evers, Tifton and Mrs. Fannie Paulk, Valdosta; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. One son, Jimmy Lee Goodman died in 1960. The body will be carried to the residence this afternon at 5:30 to await the hour of burial. Bowen-Donaldson Home For Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
