 Mary Creek Howell, 84, of Tifton died February 3, 2013, at Southern Care 
Assisted Living in Tifton.
 She was born July 2, 1928 in Tift County to the late Carson Creel and Ocie 
Alexander Creel Scott. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James 
Rudolph “J.P.” Howell, who died in 2003; and four brothers, Bobby Creel, Gene 
Scott, Wendell Scott and Keith Edward Creek, Sr. She worked at Southern Bell 
and was a homemaker and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in 
Tifton.
 Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Verlin and Velma Scott of 
Tifton; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Scott of Tifton and Dannett Creel; and 
several nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on February 5 at the Chapel of Bowen-
Donaldson Home for Funerals with Dr. Danny Ray officiating.
 Interment was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Jerry Watson, Cliff Griffin, Danny Ogletree, Mike Hall.
 Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
