PELION, S.C. Donald L. Lavender, 67, of Pelion, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005. 

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at
Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia. The casket will be 
at the home, 352 Megill Drive, Pelion, where the family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 tonight. 

Mr. Lavender was born in Tifton to the late Alonzo Wesley and Addie Elizabeth
Cox Lavender. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Lavender. 

Mr. Lavender was an Army veteran having served in the Viet Nam conflict. He was
retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a gunsmith. He was 
a member of the VFW and American Legion DAV. 

Mr. Lavender is survived by three daughters, Jacqueline Hall of Pelion, Sherri
Holloway of Tifton and Susan Cody of Ty Ty; three sons, Mark Lavender, 
Kyle Lavender and Feldon Lavender, all of Tifton; 14 grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren. 

Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North, S.C., is in charge of arrangements.
