Ashland Progress
The son of Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Morris of Route 5, Tifton, Ga., died suddenly last 
Friday night. He had attended services at New River church when after dismissal 
he was playing on the church yard when stricken and was pronounced dead before 
reaching a hospital. Funeral services were held at New River church on Monday 
afternoon burial was in the Tifton cemetery, Uncles and cousins served as 
pallbearers. Bennie was born in Clay County, near Ashland, on April 16, 1933, a 
son of B. W. and Vida Mae Ogletree Morris, both natives of this county. The 
family had been residing in Tift County, Ga. for the past six years. Besides his 
parents he is survived by one brother, James, and three sisters, Helen Francis, 
Barbara Ruth and Carolyn Morris, all at home.
