 Ida Mae Powell, 91, of the Vanceville community died July 27, 2014, at Tift 
Regional Medical Center.
 She was born April 30, 1923, in Alapaha to the late Joe and Mary Harper Rowe. 
She was a homemaker, worked in the upholstery department at Chaparral Boats, and 
was a member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church. She was the widow of 
Tom Powell, Carolyn Purviis and Pauline Sapp; a son, Herman Powell; five 
brothers, one sister, one grandson.
 She is survived by a daughter, Jean "Johnny" Davis of West Berrien; 13 
grandchildren; numerous
great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Wesley Purvis of Tifton.
 Funeral services were held July 30 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home with the Rev. Roger Tucker officiating.
 Interment followed in Empire Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
