 Larry Alvin Rowan, 59, of West Berrien died September 1, 2014, in Key Largo, 
FL.
He was born October 21, 1954, in Oliver Springs, TN to Bobby and Thelma Purvis 
Rowan of Tifton. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation 
and was a member of the Engineers Association with the Department of 
Transportation. He was past president of the Golf Association at Circlestone 
Country Club in Adel and was a member of the “Old Friends” Musical Group and the 
Mount Zion Music Ministries in Valdosta. He was an avid golfer and musician and 
used his music to minister to residents of various nursing homes and assisted 
living homes in surrounding areas. He was preceded in death by one son, Jody 
Rowan, and several loving aunts and uncles.
 In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Belinda Wilson Rowan of 
West Berrien; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, his twin, Garry (Peggy) 
Rowan of Nashville, Don (Dede) Rowan of Newnan, and Mike Woodward of Tifton; one 
sister Judy Player of Nashville; his father and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Patsy 
Wilson of Sycamore; three brothers-in-law, Russell Wilson and Ellen Spain, Keith 
Wilson and Flavia Mazzoni and Rodney and Suzanne Wilson; four nieces, Elisa 
Rowan Strickland, Sherry Rowan, Jamie Wilson and Tania Morrow; nine nephews, 
Derek Rowan, Chris Player, Taylor Strickland, Heys Rowan, Rusty Wilson, Bennett 
Rowan, Riley Wilson, Tyler Wilson, and Tyler Collins.
 Funeral services were held on September 6 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-
Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey and Rev. Jimmy Hagadorn 
officiating. Larry’s father, Bobby Rowan, delivered the eulogy.
 Interment was in Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado.
 Active pallbearers were Chris Player, Derek Rowan, Heys Rowan, Tyler Collins, 
Bennett Rowan, Rusty Wilson, Danny Nix, Robbie Rutland.
 Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Hiers, Elbert Powell, Brad Shealey, Tim Hiers, 
Timmy Baker, Buddy Suber, Mike Woodward, Danny Gay, Jim Sellers, Dave 
Richardson, Mike Williams, Don Gaskins, Billy Phelps.
 Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 323 Pine Avenue, Suite 
100, Albany, GA 31701, or the American Heart Association 222 Chestnut Avenue, 
Tifton, GA 31794.
 Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals of Tifton was in charge of arrangements.
