Adams, 615 Tift Avenue, Tuesday morning, December 27, at 10:30 o’clock, Rev. J.T. Adams, of Butler, Ga., father of the bride, performed the ceremony in a very impressive manner. The parlors were beautifully decorated with garlands of Southern smilax overhead interspersed with Christmas bells. One end of the parlor where the contracting parties stood was banked with ferns, palms and other beautiful potted plants, making a fitting background for the wedding party. The bride looked lovely in a gown of cedar gray silk, with appropriate trimmings. The reception hall was also in the Southern smilax and bells, and intermingled with the other decorations was the much-loved traditional mistletoe. The guests for the marriage were a few friends of the family in the city, and the out-of-town guests were Miss Albert Howell, of Sumner; Mrs. Essie Baker of Thomasville, and Dr. J.O. Adams of Chatsworth. The bride was the recipient of many handsome and appropriate gifts, consisting of rare Japanese ware, silver and cut glass. Before the departure of the guests they were served a most delicious salad course by Mrs. J.A. Peterson, Mrs. W.A. Clarke and Miss Helen Fulwood. Mr. and Mrs. Baird left on the 12:30 o’clock Georgia Southern & Florida for their home in Wisconsin. Mrs. Baird has made her home in Tifton with her brother for a couple of years and by her sweet Christian character has endeared herself to the people of Tifton, who regret to see her leave. Mr. Baird has by his honesty and loyalty to duty won for himself a lucrative position with the Chicago Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway Co., and has the confidence and esteem of this company.
